JASON PANDA

Artist, Educator, & Creative Facilitator

Based in Waterloo, Ontario, I have spent the last two decades exploring the intersection of logic, art, and community. As a certified educator (OCT) and professional artist, my work ranges from intricate geometric tessellations to large-scale collaborative installations that have engaged thousands of participants across North America.

Whether I am engineering a new puzzle system or leading a municipal mural project, my goal is always the same: to create frameworks where individual creativity can thrive within a collective whole. I believe that art is at its best when it serves as a bridge… Connecting our personal stories to the broader community threads that hold us all together.

Rooted in the structural logic of tessellation (not just as a geometric technique, but as a philosophy of life) my practice explores how individual elements, no matter how disparate, fit together to create a cohesive whole.

From mixed-media compositions to large-scale community installations, I use layered patterns and visual puzzles to challenge perspective. By deliberately shifting focus and twisting reality, I invite the viewer to find order within complexity and recognize the interconnectedness of all things.

Projects like Belong Together allow me to turn abstract mathematical concepts into tangible community bonds, proving that every individual piece is necessary for the integrity of the total image. Whether I am collaborating with a library on a community mural or designing intricate systems for commercial puzzles, I am driven by the belief that art should facilitate engagement. My goal is to create shared experiences that strengthen our collective threads and build a lasting sense of belonging.

Ultimately, my art is an invitation to look closer: to find the patterns, define the narrative, and recognize our essential place in the greater community.
