MIXED MEDIA
Engineering The Abstract
My studio practice is a playground for structural logic and a search for order within complexity. Rooted in the belief that nothing exists in isolation, I explore how different elements might interlock to create a cohesive narrative.
In this space, my background in systems design meets the tactile freedom of Miixed Media. I am drawn to the tension between the rigid precision of laser-cut wood and the fluid, unpredictable nature of layered paint and digital collage. By manipulating these layers, I work to reveal the hidden patterns that connect the past to the present and the individual to the collective.
Whether I am engineering a functional puzzle or capturing a fleeting moment in a sketchbook, my goal is to build frameworks for curiosity. Each piece is an invitation to look closer: to deconstruct the whole, recognize the necessity of its parts, and find a lasting sense of belonging within the design.
Form & Function
My work is a study of the architecture of storytelling. Whether I am applying repetitive textures to a traditional canvas or using tools to manipulate physical materials, the goal remains the same… To explore the expressive potential of shape and form.
Digital Archaeology
These collages are built from a collection of "found memories" captured in antique markets and other places forgotten objects might live. Using digital layering, I weave these artifacts together to build a bridge between their history and a new story waiting to be told.
The Daily Discipline
Creativity is a practice. This section features highlights from a 365-day creative challenge and a collection of quick plein air sketches. These quick, and often unrefined, studies are where my biggest ideas begin and where I love to get lost.
